Perhaps you are one of the lucky ones who knows exactly what you are going to get tattooed on yourself, but for those of us who have only a vague idea, looking around for designs for tattoos can be both fun and frustrating.
Maybe you’re tired of looking at page after page of similar flash art, or maybe you can quite put your finger on what you are looking for. In any case, it’s time to take the search to a whole new level; the online world has man options when you are taking a look for designs for tattoos.
When you are looking for tattoo designs online, there are a few things to keep in mind. The first thing is courtesy. If you find a really great, meticulously crafted tattoo that someone has had custom-designed, don’t bring it to your tattoo artist and ask for that specific piece of art exactly.
Very often, if it is an intricate custom-designed piece anyone, you’ll find that he or she can’t copy it exactly, and in any case, many tattooist frown on this practice. What you can do is have it printed out and show it to your tattooist telling him what you like or what similarities you’d like to see your own tattoo when you choose to get it.
Of course you can go online and find different pieces of art to use, whether they come from professional artists, amateurs or somewhere in between. The problem with looking at designs like this, however, is that they are simply not designed for tattooing. You’ll find that while they look great on paper, they will be quite difficult to put on skin. Either they are too detailed, or the color scheme that they use is going to be different from what will suit your skin. While you might get lucky and find a good design, chances are, you’ll just get frustrated.
You’ll also find that there are several galleries online that you can use use when it comes to designs for tattoos. Almost invariably, the good ones are membership only, but remember that you get what you are paying for. The sites that have excellent galleries, good selection, clean artwork to choose from and real creativity of design will need money to operate, while the free galleries only use a handful of designs or will only give you poor quality images.
Take some time to look for the perfect tattoo design for you, and remember that you might need to do some searching online!
